It's a surprise: French manufacturers have not completely given in to the gloom. They anticipate an investment "still strong" in 2012, an increase of 5% compared to last year, according to the quarterly survey of the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) published Tuesday.

Interviewed in July 2012, so full European crisis, business leaders in the manufacturing industry also indicated that their investments had increased 12% in 2011 compared to 2010.

The forecast for 2012, relatively good given the crisis indicate that companies need to renew their equipment.
