The credit rating agency Standard and Poor's downgraded two notches Tuesday of the note by the Areva nuclear group public to "BBB-" against "BBB +" before, mainly because of its' low profitability. " This note is with a stable outlook, which follows the new management's intentions to improve the profitability through "drastic cost reductions" and to stem the rising debt of the group. The drop two notches "reflects the lessening of our assessment of the credit profile as an isolated entity (...) and our downward revision of its financial risk profile," said S & P said in a statement . According to the agency, the long-term rating of Areva "continues to enjoy support representative 3 notches because of the tremendous support it receives from the French State in the event of financial distress."
